The Regulatory Development and Planning program within the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC) provides regulatory support and guidance for the implementation of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and state air quality rules/regulations. The Division is seeking a TDEC-Environmental Consultant 2 (TDEC-ENCN2) in the Regulatory Development and Planning Program to review, draft, and edit air quality regulations in the State Implementation Plan (SIP) and other general regulatory reporting requirements under the CAA under general supervision. This position is based at the Nashville Central office. Additionally, this position will assist and sometimes lead the Division in a few special projects potentially involving air quality modeling and coordination between local and state air agencies in Tennessee.
The TDEC-ENCN2 will collaborate with senior technical staff and with guidance from Management in developing and revising air quality regulations and the State Implementation Plan to ensure Tennessee's compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and other Federal/State requirements. This position requires a strong interest in reviewing and understanding applicable Federal and State laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and court decisions related to implementing the CAA and the Tennessee Air Pollution Control Regulations and statutes.
