Help Desk

The CMAS Help Desk services are free to the community. Many of the services in the help desk benefit from increased usage, such as the Bulletin Board and listserv discussion groups. Email-based Models-3 technical consultation is available to registered CMAS participants only. To create a CMAS support account, create a login on the CMAS Email Support Site. You can use the Email Support Site to report problems with this page or suggest additional features for the CMAS Center website.

If you are a new Models-3 user or have never used the CMAS services before, find out about information for new users here.

If you have already created a CMAS Support account, jump directly to the email support page to enter a support request for all of the CMAS-supported products. If you are not already a registered CMAS user, you will need to create a CMAS support account before submitting your request for assistance.

CMAS Help Desk Resources

Documentation

The first place to look for an answer to your Models-3 question is the online documentation for the software. The documentation page contains links to available documentation for current and previous releases of the different software that the CMAS supports. Peruse these online manuals, as many of them contain FAQ's and discussion specific to the different programs.

Interactive Resources

Search the CMAS FAQ's, Listservs, and the Bulletin Board discussion areas for information about the question that you have. These services are organized by topic to make your search easier. Look under the Model Clearinghouse area to find out about new releases and read through the release notes of past releases for detailed information about new features of the models.

Tutorials/Training

If you have a general question about model installation or application, try the online tutorials for the CMAS-supported software. More specific tutorials will be added over time; to suggest a tutorial topic, post to the CMAS Development bulletin board to let us know your ideas. The CMAS also offers annual training courses on supported software. Take a look at the CMAS Center training calendar to find out about upcoming classes.

Email Support

Email support is available to CMAS users with a support account and provides case specific support for all CMAS-supported software, and to the extent possible, CMAS-supported hardware. CMAS Email Support provides direct access to expert Models-3 users for questions about installation or operational issues. Email support also provides direct access to the Models-3 developers for technical questions about model formulation, model science, and code integration. Follow the link to the Email Support page for an explanation of how to use the system and to register. If you have already created a CMAS email support system account, use the Support Tables below for quick access to the support database and to submit new tickets.
